Galaxy Quest

Sadly - this post has been a little tardy. Note to self - get better about updating blog. A few weeks ago, we were invited to a Galaxy game. Thanks Katie and Tanner! The most important part of this is that I actually saw David Beckham! With my own two eyes and the zoom lens on my camera. And then as I was talking Katie's poor ear off we saw Kobe Bryant too! I do like soccer but sadly I am one of those fans that doesn't know any team names, or players or anything. I pretty much watch the World Cup with a lot of enthusiasm (once every 4 years), am blindly loyal to F.C. Porto and know David Beckham is legendary like Pele. Despite my pathetic knowledge, we had fun and were glad we got to spend time with Katie, Tanner, Reese and baby Beck.

The man Kobe. He loves all sports.
Reese LOVED the camera. And understands the game better.

Quote of the Day Follow-Up

On Thursday, I went to Ikea with my friend Jenny. Here was how our conversation went:

Jenny: Hey I read your blog, that was pretty funny.

Nikki: Yeah, sorry about that. I sorta chucked you and Lexi under the bus.

Jenny: No worries.

Nikki: I can't even criticize - I know Kelly Ripa and I would laugh a lot together. And I don't think I am cool enough to keep up with him, but I would love to hang out with Owen Wilson for a day.

Jenny: I don't know about Owen Wilson, but I would love to hang out with Vince Vaughn.

Nikki: You're right. Vince Vaughn would be way funnier. I know I couldn't keep up.

* I am not sure why the last few days have had so many conversations about celebrities, but it has been highly entertaining.

An Extra Wedding Present

My former rommate - Jen abandoned me and Sara so she could move to New York City to live a fabulous life. (And give us a place to stay when we come out to visit). However, Jen comes out to visit often and I was so happy that she was able to come out for our wedding.

Just recently she came out for another visit and brought me some great wedding gifts but some of my favorites were a bunch of pictures she snapped at the wedding. Here are some of my favorites.

My old roommates - Jen and Sara

And my favorite shot - of the beautiful shoes.

I am so glad she got a picture of the shoes. Like any woman, the shoes were an integral part of my outfit. Thanks Jen!!!!!!

Quotes of the Day

While watching American Idol, these were our conversations:

Nikki: I don't think Simon likes to be in the spotlight. I think that Simon is actually a super nice person in real life.

Sara: I know - I bet he is. He seems like it. I don't think he likes the spotlight either.

Jenny: I met him last season, he was so nice. His girlfriend is so so nice. And I want to say that if I ever met Ryan Seacrest - I just know I would be one of his best friends.

Nikki and Sara: (laughing because the comment is so awesome/funny)

Lexi: I know - I think I would be best friends with Ryan Seacrest too!!! And Justin Timberlake, I just know that we would be friends. His favorite ice cream is mint n chip - my favorite ice cream is mint n chip too!

Okay - besides the fact that this was a very fun conversation, I am glad the girls were over because Darren is gone again on a business trip.

Does anyone else out there have a believe that they would be best friends with a celebrity?

Love that

Let's talk about a few of my newest crushes. Anyone who has seen me in the last 2 weeks has seen me sporting some of my new birthday presents. And I heart all of them.

First my sweetheart bought me this:

A huge bottle of my favorite perfume, Stella. The great part is that I had just ran out of my tiny bottle and was complaining about it. He heard and he bought - I LOVE that he bought it and I LOVE that he listened carefully.

Then I got together with the girls for sushi and was presented with two great presents.

1) Jo Malone Perfume
2) A gift card for Tory Burch, which allowed me to buy these:

Hmmmm - I am a lucky girl! After this treatment, I might want to celebrate birth-month! Thanks again girls!!!

True Confession

I am not a virgin blogger. What I mean is that this blog is not my first experience blogging. Truth be told I have been part of a blog since July 2002. I cannot take credit. I would say Val and Nate were the masterminds behind the friend blog, Mugrunners. This is a combination of close college girlfriends (and guy friend - a special shout out to Jeff). These people were present for the college moments, whether it be - getting big gulps at midnight, watching far too many movies, hosting Cinco de Mayo parties, and mostly - just laughing. A lot. Some of the girls I knew from my days in Mesa, AZ. Some of them we met at Ricks College. One I knew in grade school and one even ended up as family! These girls are friends for life and I consider myself very lucky.

These lovely ladies hosted a bachelorette party for me and what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

Here are some shots of them trying their luck at the slots.
This isn't the most complete picture - but my computer is taking a bazillion years!!! It was a great weekend and I wore a huge bright pink veil all weekend - it was amazing. Here is a link to my fun for the last 5 plus years:

Enjoy.
